Toyota has given India’s favourite (sort of) premium SUV another variant. Yes, the Toyota Fortuner GR-S had just been revealed! The Fortuner is one of the best selling SUVs in its segment. Even though the prices have been going up like crazy, the craze for the Fortuner just doesn’t boil down. Well, here’s a little bit about the new Toyota Fortuner GR-S.
What’s new on the Toyota Fortuner GR-S?
The new GR-S variant gets a few extra cosmetic tweaks that differentiate it from the Legender and the Fortuner. The GR stands for Gazoo Racing from Toyota’s special edition line-up. The Toyota Fortuner GR-S also gets a newly tuned suspension to make it a bit sportier. It gets a new front grille, new all-black alloys, front and rear bumper, and GR-S badging on the grille, fenders and the boot lid. On the inside, it gets an all-black interior with red stitching. It also gets a GR-S badge on the steering wheel and the start-stop button, sportier pedals and a new instrument cluster. The Fortuner GR-S gets a wireless charger, JBL sound system, powered tailgate and an 8-inch infotainment system.
Toyota Fortuner GR-S engine
There’s nothing new on the engine. The GR-S variant is powered by the same 2.8L diesel engine that produces 204HP and 500nm torque. Only a 6-speed automatic transmission is available with this engine. The Toyota Fortuner GR-S does not get the option of a petrol variant.
The new Fortuner GR-S sits above the Legender, at a price of Rs. 48.43 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
