Toyota Hyryder Officially Revealed! Everything You Need To Know

The much-awaited Creta rival from Toyota is finally here. Yes, Toyota just revealed the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and it looks very promising! The Hyryder is based on the same platform that houses the Maruti Brezza, however this time, Toyota has tried to set their SUV apart from Maruti’s. The Hyryder gets more features, hybrid options, and AWD! Let’s take a look at the Toyota Hyryder.

  • Design

Though both, the Brezza and the Hyryder are the same in the core, the Hyryder is much different when it comes to looks. The streamlined design along with flashy bits like the grille and the headlamps give it a more mature look. The 17-inch alloys are designed exactly like the one’s on the current-gen Creta. The rear is where you might see some similarities with the Brezza, but they are too subtle to notice.

  • Interior of the Toyota Hyryder

On the inside, the Toyota Hyryder feels a bit more premium than the Brezza. Though a lot of the parts are the same, there are some soft touches that make the Hyryder feel premium. On the features front, the Hyryder gets is all. There’s a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, drive modes, 360-degree camera, AWD, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and much more. On the safety front, the Hyryder gets 6 airbags, ESP, TC, hill hold, hill descent, TPMS, etc.

  • Powertrain

The Hyryder gets a 1.5L petrol engine that makes 103HP and 137nm. This is offered with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Toyota Hyryder also gets another engine – the 1.5L TNGA Atkinson’s Cycle Petrol. This engine is supported by an electric motor to form a hybrid ecosystem. The combined power comes out to 115HP on this hybrid variant. It is paired to an e-drive transmission (a CVT).

  • Toyota Hyryder Pricing

Toyota has kept the seals shut on the pricing of the Hyryder. The prices will be revealed in August when the SUV launches. The Hyryder will primarily compete with the Creta, Seltos, Astor, Kushaq and the Taigun.
