Toyota Innova Crysta Axes 2.8 Diesel Variant. Other Options To Get Pricey

Toyota Innova Crysta which was revealed earlier this month to be BS6 complaint will not be bringing its 2.8 Litre diesel engine to the market on its February 2020 launch. Other variants are not going anywhere and will be available to purchase.

The diesel variants which are confirmed are 2.7-litre and 2.4-litre engines and will feature both automatic and manual transmission, unlike the BS4 version.

Toyotas MPV to not launch 2.8L diesel

  • The current Innova Crysta engine provides a torque of 343Nm with 147.8 bhp.
  • It comes in both AMT and manual option.
  • With new BS6 emission norms, the current efficiency of 13.68km/l will drop.
  • BS4 model of the car which has the 2.8 L diesel comes with a 6-speed automatic which will now come along with the 2.4 L variant. 

The BS6 diesel option of Innova Crysta has been priced between Rs 16.14 lakh and Rs 24.06 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi.

Toyota has already started booking for Innova Crysta and the car is expected to start rolling out from February. Toyota Innova will have to compete with the 7-Seater MG Hector in C-segment whereas under the MPV division the sort MPV will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the XL-6.
