Toyota Recalls over 3.2 Million Vehicles Worldwide!

Toyota Motor Corp has decided to recall over 3.2 million units worldwide due to a faulty fuel pump. The faulty pump could possibly stall the engine which would cost the owner a lot to get the repair work done. Earlier this year, Toyota had decided to recall over 696,000 units in the US and stated that the dealers would replace the fuel pumps.

In a recent update, Toyota said that they will recall over 1.8 million vehicles from the United States. These include the Lexus vehicles too. The same issue is there in the Lexus vehicles too. The recalled models include vehicles from early years like 2013 and 1 Million vehicles that Toyota announced this January.

Toyota already started working on the recall plan from June last year. There were almost 66 field reports and 2,571 warranty claims which reported the same issue with the fuel pump. These were the issues raised by the vehicle owners who had their vehicles recalled in the first phase. Later, Toyota realised that they have got more vehicles which had undergone the same manufacturing process and need to be recalled.

All the owners complained about the same things about their car’s engine. Either their Toyota had the engine running rough or they were experiencing a power loss from the engine. In the worst cases, the engine wasn’t starting at all!

Toyota said that most of the reports were made from the areas having a warm climate typically found in the southern US. Talking about India, vehicle recall has been really common as the customers report some manufacturing errors to the automakers in masses. Don’t be afraid if your vehicle is among those which are recalled. This is quite normal as they need to meet the high demand so we can expect some errors in the production line.
