Toyota is all set to launch its new sub-compact SUV; the Toyota Rise in the month of November 2019. It seems that almost all major car manufacturers in India want to take a shot at the popular sub-four meter SUV market in India.

Toyota Rise | Highlights
- The Rise SUV will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine. Toyota will offer the SUV in 2WD (two-wheel drive) and 4WD (four-wheel drive) configurations.
- The Toyota Rise is also sold as the Daihatsu Rocky in other countries. Daihatsu is the sister brand of Toyota.
- The Rise will be the production variant of the Daihatsu DN Trec concept car showcased in 2017.
- The Rise will be based on the TNGA ( Toyota New Global Architecture) modular platform specially designed for emerging markets like India.
- The Rise SUV will feature a rugged front and rear bumper, a raised ride height and other SUVish features that will complement its muscular looks.
- Although, being a potential game-changer, there is no official news of Toyota bringing the Rise in India.
- The Toyota Rise will compete with the likes of the Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport and the Tata Nexon.
- Toyota is in a strategic partnership with Maruti Suzuki in India. Toyota had recently introduced the Toyota Glanza; a rebadged Baleno.
- Future plans of Toyota includes introducing the Maruti Ertiga, Ciaz and the Vitara Brezza in Toyota’s badging.
