Toyota To Launch Vellfire MPV in India

Following the government’s decision to relax the homologation rules for imported vehicles. Toyota Kirloskar Motors is all set to launch a new premium MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) called the Toyota Vellfire in the Indian market. After Mercedes Benz its time for Toyota to bring in the niche and launch a luxury MPV.

  • The Toyota Vellfire is the new flagship model from the company’s lineup in India. As per leading media reports, the company has already dispatched a few units to selected dealership across India
  • Bookings for the Toyota Vellfire has started with a token amount of ₹5,00,000.
  • For a long time, the Mercedes V-class has been the only option for people who wanted to buy a luxury MPV. The Mercedes Benz V Class is powered by a 2.1-litre BS6-compliant diesel engine.
  • The Toyota Vellfire is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid motor which develops a combined output of 194 bhp and torque of 206 nm. The Toyota Vellfire is available with a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) gearbox.
  • The price for the Toyota Vellfire will range between ₹75,00,000 to ₹80,00,000 and is expected to comply with the upcoming BS6 norms.
  • The Toyota Vellfire is expected to be launched either in October 2019 or after February 2020.
  • The Vellfire features a more foxy-design which makes for a roomier cabin. It also comes with power-operated sliding doors which gives the car its finishing looks.
  • The interiors for the Vellfore are quite similar as of the brands another major selling MPV the Toyota Innova Crysta.
  • The Toyota Vellfire includes a feature-rich, premium and luxuries interior which includes two large thrones with powered sliding doors and tailgate, two sunroofs, three-zone automatic climate control, mood lighting, individual tray tables, seven airbags and will be offered in a black or beige interior.
  • This Japanese carmaker had previously given no indication that it will be bringing this beast of a car to India. But with the day-by-day increasing demand for SUVs and other utility vehicles. It seems that Toyota has taken a major turn and have now decided to bring some major products in order to boost its sales in the already depleting Indian auto sector.
  • The Toyota Vellfire will directly rival the Mercedes Benz V Class.
