The Tata HBX (H2X) was unveiled a few months back at the 2020 Auto Expo and now Tata has confirmed that the micro SUV might just be around the corner. We can easily expect the HBX mini SUV to make its debut in 2021. In fact, as per Pratap Bose, Vice President, Global Design at Tata Motors the HBX SUV is 95% production-ready. It was earlier supposed to launch in April/May 2020 but, got delayed due to the COVID19 pandemic that has spread across the nation.

The HBX is the company’s smallest car built on the ALFA platform. Even smaller than the Altroz. This is evident by those small 15-inch wheels and overall compact dimensions. But kudos to Tata on the design part, as the car looks apart with its SUV-ish looks thanks to the flat bonnet, faux skid plates, roof and a taller stance.

The Tata HBx will be powered by the same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that does duty on the Altroz, Tigor and the Tiago. The car will also come with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. This 1.2-litre motor produces 85bhp and 110nm of peak torque. Tata has not commented on the inclusion of a diesel engine and has recently discontinued the 1.05-litre turbo-diesel unit.

Honda has discontinued the production of the old Honda Brio back in 2019. There are faint details on the return of the Honda Brio as a 2020 model. Honda has unveiled the 2019 Brio at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show in Jakarta. The new Brio takes a lot of design hints from the current-gen Honda Amaze.

The second-generation Brio uses the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine good for 90PS of power and 110Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed CVT. The Hyundai AX is Hyundai’s answer to the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, meaning that the AX will be a “Micro-SUV”. The Hyundai AX will a small car and the company is planning to foot itself in the budget/economy car category (Just what the now-discontinued Hyundai EON failed to do). The Hyundai AX will be based on the same K1 platform, same as the Hyundai Santro. The concept of the AX was last seen in the February 2020 Auto Expo which was a 3-door car called the Hyundai Curb.

In-depth details are not revealed yet, but we speculate the car will have all the features that are in-trend in the year 2020. Connected car technology to name one. For the engine, the Hyundai AX might make use of the same engine as on the current Hyundai Santro; a 1.1L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder producing 69 PS and 99 Nm of torque. On the inside, the 2020 Redi-Go gets a new dashboard with a new infotainment system (probably from the Renault Kwid) and new fabric seats. The interior is in a dual-tone shade.
