    Expected launch in India: April 2020

    The faster, more fun to drive Grand i10 Nios Turbo comes with a 1.0-litre turbocharged, 3-cylinder petrol engine makes 100bhp and 172 nm of torque. is definitely something enthusiasts will be looking forward to. It is in fact the same engine found on the Venue SUV and Aura sub-4-meter sedan. The Turbo Grand i10 Nios gets a 5-speed manual gearbox only with no automatic variant. Expected price will be around Rs 50,000-70,000 more than the top-variant Grand i10 Nios which costs Rs 7.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

    Expected launch in India: March 2020

    The 2020 Maruti Suzuki Ignis, is a facelift with a BS6 compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine. Also included is Maruti’s new 7.0-inch SmartPlay infotainment system and the S-Connect in-car connectivity. We can expect a price increase of Rs 7,000-15,000 over the current-gen. Dealerships have already started accepting booking for the Facelifted Ignis at Maruti’s Nexa showroom.

  3. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso CNG

    Expected launch in India: March 2020

    The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso CNG is the first car in Maruti’s portfolio to get a BS6-compliant, CNG version of the 1.0-litre K-series engine. The engine makes 58hp and 78Nm of torque. The S-Presso S-CNG will be available in four variants; LXi, LXi Option, VXi and VXi Option. The Maruti S-Presso CNG will cost about Rs 60,000 more than the petrol-powered S-Presso.

    Expected launch in India: November 2020

    The Tata Altroz EV is the second car in Tata’s portfolio to get Tata’s Ziptron technology. The range and performance on the Altroz EV is the same as the recently launched Nexon EV. For context, he Tata Nexon EV comes with a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack with an electric motor producing 129hp and 245Nm. The Nexon EV returns an ARAI-certified range of 312km.

    Expected launch in India: Second Quarter 2020

    The Renault Triber AMT was a long due after Renault brought the Triber MPV to the Indian market. The Triber AMT comes with its 5-speed AMT unit mated to the same 72hp, 1.0-litre petrol engine. Be ready to shell out about Rs 50,000 more for the privilege of driving an automatic. 

  6. Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI

    Expected launch in India: April 2020

    The Skoda Rapid gets a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol TSI engine which will be offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The Rapid TSI will be the most powerful C-Segment sedan in the category.

    Expected launch in India: May 2020

    The 2020 Skoda Superb will now sport a 190hp, 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which replaces the 8 TSI petrol and the 2.0 turbo-diesel engines available earlier. The new Skoda Superb will run against the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Volkswagen Passat. A price increase is most definitely expected.

  8. Renault K-ZE EV

    Expected launch in India: 2021

    The Renault Kwid-based k-ZE EV is headed for India and will be Made In India. Powered by an electric motor that churns 44hp and 125Nm of torque. The K-ZE EV is powered by a 26.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a 271km range on the NEDC cycle. The Renault K-ZE will come with a fast charger that can charge the battery from 30-80 percent in just 30 minutes.

  9. Renault Zoe EV

    Expected launch in India: November 2020/January 2021

    Another EV by Renault; this is the Renault Zoe EV which comes with a 52kWh battery setup that drives an electric motor that produces 134hp and 245Nm. The Zoe EV has a WLTP-certified range of 395km and can be charged from 0-70% in 55min via a 50kW DC fast charger. The expected price range can be Rs 14-16 lakh price tag.

  10. MG 360M (Ertiga/XL6 Rival)

    Expected launch in India: 2021

    This is MG Motor India’s take on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Unlike the Ertiga, the MG 360M is expected with petrol and diesel engine options. And what seems to be the standard for all MG cars, the MG 360M will come feature-loaded.

  11. MG G10 (Kia Carnival Rival)

    Expected launch in India: 2021

    The MG G10 is what MG brings to the table to counter the recently launched Kia Carnival and the segment leader Toyota Innova. The MG G10 is bigger than the Kia Carnival, comes with 6/8/9 seating configurations. The feature list includes; power adjust and powered leg rests for the middle-row captain’s chairs (7-seat version), multi-zone climate control, a large touchscreen infotainment unit, connected-car tech, a smart sensing tailgate and a powered sunroof. Engine availability is now confirmed yet however we expect the 2.4-litre petrol, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.9-litre turbo-diesel options to make it into India.

  12. Haima E1

    Expected launch in India: 2022

    Chinese carmaker Haima Automobile is making its debut with the Haima E1 EV (sold as the Aishang EV 360 in China). Haima Automobile has ventured with Bird Electric to brand and market the E1 EV in India. The India-spec E1 EV will get a different design along with a 28.5kWh battery pack that is said to have a range of 301km. The electric motor produces 54hp and 140Nm. A smaller 20.42kWh battery, which has a claimed range of 202km, is also available in international markets. We expect a price tag of around 10 lakhs for the Haima E1 EV.
