The Compact SUV segment has been the fastest-growing segment in the past 5 years in India. Nowadays almost every carmaker is coming up with their own version of a compact SUV. There are also some of them which are all set to launch their products very soon and if you think that the segment already has enough to offer then think again as here we have listed the 7 upcoming compact SUVs set to launch this year.

1. Hyundai AX

   The Nissan Magnite is likely to be based on the CMF-A+ platform which also underpins the Renault Triber MPV and the HBC Kiger compact SUV.

The Kia Sonet With its launch will directly rival the likes of its cousin the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Mahindra XUV300.

   The Sonet compact SUV is also expected to have some more premium upmarket features tan its cousin the Hyundai Venue.

   Well, it was pretty much evident that Toyota is planning to launch the rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza under the new Toyota-Suzuki partnership in India this year. This will be the second product to come out of the JV which will initially be based on the Vitara Brezza. According to recent media reports, Toyota’s new sub-4 meter SUV could be called ‘Urban Cruiser’ as the Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer has recently applied to get the Urban Cruiser name patent.

   Certain reports also suggest that the name has been derived from the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser which was recently discontinued. Not only that the Japanese carmaker will also be launching the rebadged version of the Ertiga and Ciaz for the domestic market.

   The new Honda ZR-V compact SUV is also expected to suit on a brand new platform which also underpins the upcoming HR-V crosshatch. This designated platform will be bigger its previous generation leaving enough space for the Japanese automobile manufacturer to fit in a new SUV measuring around 4.2-meters in length.

   This new mid-sized SUV will be Honda’s first product which will launch on a global scale but will first go on sale in Japan by early 2021 following its global launch. When launched in India the Honda ZR-V will actively rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Mahindra XUV300 and the Renault Duster.

   The upcoming Kiger SUV will be getting a sunroof, first time in any Renault car.
