Top 9 Upcoming Facelift Cars and SUVs to launch In 2020

Well, it seems that the year 2020 will be the year of new launches while most have already made their official public appearance at the recently held Auto Expo 2020. Besides their new line-up, many automobile manufacturers will also be bringing in a host of facelifts of their existing popular products. So here we have curated a list to some top upcoming facelifts and SUVs all set to launch in 2020.

  1. Maruti Suzuki Swift

    There is a saying that the best always deserves the first place and this is why we have India’s largest automobile manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki on the upcoming facelifts and SUVs list is the ever shining swift hatchback which recently reached its 2 millionth mark.

    Under its hood, the new facelift version of the swift will feature a 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine compliant to the BS6 emission norms which previously featured in the updated Dzire and will generate a maximum power of 90hp while delivering an average of 24.12kmpl (MT) – 23.26kmpl (AMT).

  2. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross

    The second place on the upcoming facelifts and SUVs list goes to yet another MSIL model and this time it is the S-Cross hatchback which will come equipped with a 1.5L petrol engine partnered with Suzuki’s dual-battery system – SHVS mild-hybrid technology.

    The designated engine unit is capable of generating 103bhp with 138Nm of torque while paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. Additionally, the S-cross will also feature some minor tweaks which will include an updated infotainment system, cruise control, LED projector headlights and 16-inch alloy wheels which such features it is for sure that the S-Cross is certainly a worthy entry on the upcoming facelift and SUVs list.

  3. Toyota Fortuner

    We can expect the new Fortuner facelift to get a 2.7 Litre and 2.8 Litre diesel engines compliant to the BS6 emission norms while paired to both manual 7-speed manual and automatic transmission.

    However, the global version gets a myriad number of engines including and not limited to 4.0 L petrol engines and 3.0L diesel engines. These, however, are not ideal for the Indian market due to no demand for them.

  4. Hyundai Tucson

    Next one is from the Korean auto giant Hyundai whcih is all set to bring in the facelift version of the Tucson SUV which will feature a 2.0 Litre turbocharged engine Hyundai Tucson can output 152.88bhp with a torque of 192 Nm of peak torque. While the same diesel variant can output 182.46 bhp and a torque of 400 Nm of torque.

    And with its launch, the Hyundai Tucson will rival the likes of Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier and MG Hector and with these changes, it will have a better chance to challenge its rivals.

  5. Honda WR-V

    Honda is ready to launch its all-new BS6 lineup. The company might start its series of launches with the new 2020 BS6 City later following the Honda WR-V. We assume the new Honda WR-V to have some subtle changes inside as well as the outside.

    Under its bonnet, the budget hatchback will be powered by a 1.2-Litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 89bhp and about 110Nm of peak torque while paired to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. However, there will also be an AMT option but with a different variant.

  6. Toyota Innova Crysta

    It looks like the Japanese are all-set to being in the facelift version of the iconic Innova Crysta which will feature a BS6 compliant 2.7L petrol unit churning 164bhp with 245Nm of peak torque while mated to a manual and automatic gearbox options.

    Taling about the styling cues the maximum changes will be done on the front and the rear side while the on the inside we can expect an updated infotainment system with smartphone connectivity along with a few more new features.

  7. Skoda Superb

    Škoda India is planning to come back with a bang with the all-new 2020 Škoda superb. Although the spy shots reveal that the test mule is just a facelifted version of 2020 Škoda superb and not a full-generation upgrade. However, the 2020 Škoda superb will feature a few tweaks here and there.

    It is rumoured that Škoda will upgrade the current line-up with the BS6 emission norms the current line-up consists of a 1.8-litre petrol TSI unit (180PS/320Nm) available with a 6-speed MT and a 7-speed DSG. Appearance-wise gets a redesigned front grille, front bumper, LED tail-lamp design and optional new full-LED Matrix headlamps with additional features including driver assistance features like predictive cruise control are said to be in works.

  8. Mahindra TUV300

    Here comes the toughest of them all on the upcoming facelift cars and SUVs list the Mahindra TUV300. Although there have also been rumours that Mahindra could rename the new TUV300 as the “Mahindra TUV300 Plus” with the “Plus” indicating towards some major tweaks on the inside as well as on the outside.

    Under its revised hood, the TUV300 would feature an upgraded version of its previous 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel engine compliant to the BS6 emission norms. However, it is still unknown how the engine will perform with the new upgrades but one thing is for certain that the engine will continue to deliver the power output within the 100hp region.

  9. Skoda Kodiaq

    Skoda Kodiaq was a familiar face among the new cars showcased at the Skoda pavilion at the Auto Expo 2020. The powerful car used to exist with a 2.0-litre BS4 diesel unit till now. The one showcased at the expo is the BS6 avatar of the Kodiaq. As Skoda transits this car into BS6, the diesel version will be replaced by a 2.0-litre petrol engine.

    On the outside, the Skoda Kodiaq looks similar to the already existing diesel variant of the car. The interior layout is also similar to the outgoing model so you get all the highlight equipment such as adaptive LED headlamps, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, panoramic sunroof, 3-zone climate control, and power nap package.
