You Can Design Skoda’s Upcoming Honda City Rival?

Here’s your chance to shine! Czech carmaker, Skoda has come out with a very unique way to publicise its upcoming mid-size sedan rivalling the likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz rival.

Zac Hollis, Skoda’s Sales and Marketing Head recently announced a campaign on his Twitter handle encouraging budding Indian designers to design their own version of the camouflaged image shared by him.

The Entires for the contest will remain open till 18th August 2021. The top 5 entries will be announced on August 23rd 2021 out of which 1 final winner will be selected. Judges of the contest include Gurpratap Boparai, Zac Hollis and Oliver Stefani.

You can participate in the contest by submitting your version of the brands upcoming mid-size sedan online on www.camowithskoda.com.  According to the post, the winner’s design will be applied to the upcoming Hyundai Verna rival and shall be showcased across the country.

What do we know so far about the new mid-size sedan?

  • It is also said that the new sedan will be part of the Volkswagen India 2.0 scheme and will be based on the brand MQB A0 IN platform.

  • The new Skoda sedan is also expected to be called “Slavia” and could replace the existing Skoda Rapid.
  • This sedan from Skoda might come with a couple of fun powertrain and drivetrain options.
  • So, the Rapid successor may get a powerful 1.5-litre Turbo Petrol TSI engine that pushes 150hp of max power and 250Nm of maximum torque.
  • Also, it is expected that this engine will come either with a 6 speed MT or a 7 Speed DSG gearbox.
  • The other engine is a 1.0-litre turbo petrol TSI motor that also does duties in the current-gen Skoda Rapid.
  • This engine is healthy enough to produce 110hp of power and 175 Nm of peak torque. Transferring the power to the front wheels will be an option of a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT (torque converter).
