2022 is almost at its end and this has been a good year for car launches. From the Mahindra Scorpio-N to Hyundai Tucson, 2022 has been the year for new SUVs. Well, it’s not over yet, and there are a few more SUVs coming to India next month. Here’s a list of 5 upcoming SUVs in December 2022!

Toyota Hyryder CNG
Earlier this month, Toyota announced that they will be launching a CNG variant of the Hyryder in December. The SUV currently comes with strong and mild hybrid options, and a CNG addition to this would really give people a lot of options. This will be the first Toyota SUV that will feature CNG in India! It is expected to launch with the 1.5L K15 engine seen on the mild hybrid variant of the Hyryder. Power figures for the CNG variant are not yet confirmed.

Mercedes Benz GLB
Next up on this list of upcoming SUVs in December 2022 is one from the German luxury brand, Mercedes Benz. The GLB is expected in India by 2nd December 2022. It will be the second 7-seater SUV from Merc after the GLS. The GLB will be manufactured in Mexico and will come to India via the CBU route. It will come with 2 engine options, a 1.3L turbo petrol, and a 2L diesel. Power figures are expected to be around 163HP for the petrol variant and around 190HP for the diesel. The petrol engine will be mated to a 7-speed DCT and the diesel will be linked to an 8-speed AT.

Maruti Grand Vitara CNG
Toyota’s sibling also makes it to this list of upcoming SUVs in December 2022! Just like Toyota, Maruti is also coming up with a CNG variant for the recently launched Grand Vitara. Similar to the Hyryder, the Grand Vitara will also see CNG as an add-on to the 1.5L K15 engine. This will most likely be mated to the 5-speed manual transmission seen on the existing variant.

Mercedes Benz EQB
Another Mercedes on this list of upcoming SUVs in December 2022! The EQB is the EV variant of the GLB. It is a 7-seater, fully electric SUV. The EQB will be the third EV from Mercedes for the Indian market after the EQS and the EQC. While foreign models get a powerful 292HP, 520nm dual-motor setup, the Indian model will be slightly detuned to 228HP and 390nm.

BMW XM
The Germans are ruling this list of upcoming SUVs in December 2022! BMW is planning on launching the plugin hybrid XM in India next month. The XM gets a massive V8 engine that makes 653HP and 800nm! It also houses a battery that can help the car run on EV mode for up to 80KMs. The XM is pretty similar to the X7 in size, but it is much more sporty and aggressive.
