Vitara Likely To Be The New 7-Seater Maruti SUV

India’s own car brand, Maruti Suzuki likely to unveil a 7-seater SUV at Auto Expo 2020 under the branding of Vitara. Globally, Suzuki’s 7 seater Vitara is already on sale. Although there is nothing official from the company, the global-spec Vitara has been seen on the Indian roads for testing.

More At The Auto Expo 2020: Maruti Suzuki to Reveal Electric SUV Concept at Auto Expo!

The new Maruti 7-seater SUV will go up against the already successful Hyundai Creta as compared to the current offering of Maruti, the Vitara Brezza. The company will be aiming to reach the top in the semi-premium segment with the 7-seater SUV Vitara.

The all-new Maruti 7-seater SUV, Vitara is expected to be powered by the same 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, which was introduced to the global lineup of Vitara. The engine specs may vary after the launch in India. The new engine offers 118 bhp of power and a 320-Nm of peak torque which replaced the initial offering of 1.6-Litre. The transmission comes as a 5-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission.

Other specs are yet to be revealed as there is no official statement from India’s largest automaker yet. The Vitara has been awaited for the launch in India after the SUV segment boom due to various options by other companies. The global version has a superior looking front grille that justifies the premium class offering. The premium Maruti 7-seater SUV has got a stylish side view. The SUV comes with various colour options such as Bluish black pearl, clear beige, nocturnal blue, pearl white and silky silver.

We’ll have to wait till the company officially launches the 7-seater Vitara in India. With tough global competitors such as Kia and MG already making a mark with the sale of Seltos and Hector respectively, Maruti Suzuki needs to bring in their A-game to gain the top spot. Let’s wait until the Auto Expo 2020.
