The Multidimensional Benefit

Vehicle Scrappage: The Recycling R

More than just the economic benefits, the new Scrappage policy will also tackle the unsafe dismantling practices and deteriorating working environment that currently haunts the Scrappage industry. And while doing so, the implementation of the policy will reduce land, air and water pollution levels drastically.

With the policy fully implemented, the Recycling R of the sustainable development principle will be efficiently invoked. Old and degrading vehicles will be recycled to attain ferrous and other metal parts along with plastic rubber, glass and other reusable aggregates such as engines, axles, gearboxes etc.

The fact that vehicles are made up of several ferrous, non-ferrous and sometimes even precious metals and materials, recycling them would literally bring about an automotive green revolution.

The regulated and timely disposal of older vehicles will substantial contribute towards salvaging tons and tons of metal from heaps of landfills, bringing them back into the automotive economy. With such an organized recycling and Scrappage system, India’s carbon footprint, as well as Steel import, is sure to reduce.
