Yamaha R15 V4 Launched! 5 Things You Should Know!

Yamaha has finally launched the all new R15 V4. The R15 is one of the most important bikes in India. It is the motorcycle that introduced us to true sport biking and track dynamics. The R15 has continually evolved over the last few years, and Yamaha has been listening to its customers with every upgrade! With the latest upgrade, Yamaha has brought to India the international spec bike. Here are 5 things you should know about the all new Yamaha R15 V4.

  1. All new Design

The R15 V4 gets an all new design language. This one looks a lot more like its big brother, the Yamaha R1. While the rear remains similar to what we saw on the V3, the front has changed drastically. It gets a new faring set-up, which is much more aggressive and detailed than the older version. The new colors make the bike look meaner. The aerodynamics have been improved, thanks to the R1 DNA.

  1. Mechanical Changes on the R15 V4

That’s right, the R15 V4 doesn’t come with just cosmetic changes, there are also a few structural changes that have been made. The front suspension now gets USD forks, which helps with cornering stability and improved overall handling. Yamaha has also made changes to the frame to make it more stable and planted at higher speeds. The engine on the R15 continues to be the same 155cc single-cylinder which produces 18.4HP and  14.2nm of torque.

  1. New Features

The Yamaha R15 V4 gets a slip-assist clutch, which makes aggressive downshifts much smoother. However, this is not it, it also gets a quick-shifter, which is a first in segment feature! Looking at the nature of the bike, a quick-shifter is a welcome feature, for sure. The motorcycle now also gets traction control.

  1. Fresh Instrument Cluster

The new instrument cluster on the R15 V4 brings along with itself Bluetooth connectivity. It gets a new display with a new layout, the display still remains as informative as it was. The buttons used for accessing this display have now been shifted to the handlebar, adding to riding convenience.

  1. Pricing

All these changed to come in with a price hike. The R15 V4 not starts at Rs.1.68 Lakhs(ex-showroom).  The ‘M’ variant starts at Rs.1.78 Lakhs(ex-showroom).
