Well, It seems 2021 is the year of debuts and launches from Honda launching the Amaze facelift to Tata revealing India’s first Ziptron powered sub-compact electric sedan, The Tata Tigor EV and now leaked images of the soon to launch 2022 Jeep Commander has surfaced on the internet with rumours of it making its global debut by the end of this year.
Although certain reading media reports do suggest that the 2022 version of the 7-seater version of the Jeep Compass will be launched in South America and China first, before launching in India.
Anything new on the Mechanical front?
- The new age Jeep Commander will come powered by a 2.0 litre, 4 cylinder Multijet diesel engine generating 200 hp.
- The engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual and an optional 9-speed automatic transmission.
- Reports also suggest that soon to launch MG Gloster rival will be manufactured at the Fiat Chrysler Automotive plant located in Ranjangaon in Maharashtra.
- Additionally, we can also expect to see a plug-in hybrid powertrain and 4×4 variants which could be reserved for the top-spec trims.
Anything new on the feature end?
- The ultra-luxurious feature list on the Ford Endeavour rival includes multiple infotainment options, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, premium leatherette upholstery, 30+ connected car features, automatic climate control, cruise control, a fully digital instrument cluster and more.
- Talking about the exterior, the Jeep Commander will get a 7-slat front grille, wide air intakes, roof rails, black ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and a revised bumper for a more aggressive look.
- Standard safety features include ESP, level 2 ADAS, auto parking, 6-airbags, ABS with EBD and CSC etc.
