Automatic cars have been a boon since their inception. However, the only thing to refrain anyone from buying an AMT car is its price. But, Japanese carmaker Nissan is all set to hit the spot by launching an AMT Magnite which is said to be the cheapest sub-4 meter car with an automatic gearbox.
The new Nissan Magnite AMT is set to rock the Indian automobile market as its price is said to undercut all the present cars which also happen to be of a lower segment- Tata Punch AMT, Hyundai Exter AMT.
- It is expected to come with a price tag of Rs 6.5 lakh (Ex-Showroom) which also happens to be Rs 50,000-60,000 than its Manual variants.
- This compared to the already existing Adventure AMT of the Tata PUNCH which comes priced at Rs 7.5 lakh and the Hyundai Exter which has a price tag of Rs 8.09 lakh seems quite reasonable.
- However, the only negative point lies in its powertrain, the Magnite comes with a 1.0-litre petrol engine producing 98.63bhp with a peak torque of 152Nm while paired to a Manual/CVT and now an AMT gearbox.
- The Nissan Magnite AMT will be available in 4 variants- XE, XM, XV, and XV Premium.
- Although, with new and more premium transmission options the new Magnnite AMT might miss out on some of the features offered with the higher variants.
- With this Nissan also expects a slight boost in sales numbers in its sub-4 meter category.
- Talking about rivals, it does lock horns with the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Renault Kiger, Tata Nexon and the Mahindra XUV300.
