Auto Expo 2020 witnessed an unprecedented crowd on Sunday. The 15th edition of the motor show witnessed over 1 lakh visitors on Sunday.
The motor show opened for the public on Friday, 7th February. Since the opening, the auto show has been witnessing a positive response from the public. SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) has released the data for the event. According to the released data, the first day saw 70,000 visitors, followed by 100,000 visitors on Saturday as well as Sunday.
The footfall in the 2020 edition is said to be better than the previous edition of the Auto Expo. According to SIAM’s data, the 2018 edition saw a total of 6,00,000 visitors on all public days. The spiked footfall can be a good signal for auto manufacturers for who might have been sceptical about the auto show, considering the economic slowdown in the automotive industry.

2020 edition of the show has seen over 70 unveils by now. The auto enthusiasts and public are intrigued and enthusiastic about the new vehicles launched and a range of EVs which are showcased at the biennial event. Various cars such as the Suzuki Jimny, the Kia Seltos X-Line Concept, the facelift Creta etc. turned out to be positive publicity for the event. Many visitors were eager to see these vehicles which might be treading on the Indian roads soon.
The 2020 version of the Auto Expo has seen various major carmakers giving the event a miss. Jeep, Toyota, Honda, Audi, Volvo, Jaguar Land Rover being some of them.
