Innova Hycross
Toyota’s show-stopper at the auto expo 2023 will undoubtedly be the popular new MPV, the Innova Hycross. With multiple units of the new MPV on display, Toyota will aim at attracting potential customers. Featuring a petrol-hybrid powertrain and an efficiency of 23.24 kmpl, the Hycross is priced between Rs.18.30 – 28.97 Lakhs.

LC300
The star of several Punjabi Songs, the Land Cruiser will make its way to the Auto Expo 2023. As a showcase, the LC300 will play a crucial role in attracting the public and garnering consumer interest. Based on the GA-F platform, the LC300 brings in a body-on-frame construction with two engine options, including a 3.5-litre turbo petrol and a 3.3-litre diesel. However, the one in India only gets diesel, which is sold out as of yet.

GR Corolla Hatchback
For those who love the performance, the Gazoo Racing Corolla Hatch will make its way to the expo. With no plans to be launched in India, the GR Corolla will be a showcase only. Under the hood will be a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine, pumping as much as 304PS with 370Nm of torque. Based on the latest-gen Corolla hatchback, which is sold globally, the GR Corolla Hatchback will be a sight to watch.

EVs, Hybrids, FCEVs
Apart from the LC300, Hycross and GR Corolla, Toyota will also showcase its range of electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) along with flex-fuel hybrids. Reports also hint that Toyota will showcase pure EVs and hydrogen concept tech. Toyota could take the Expo as the perfect opportunity to launch the Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG.
BYD
The EV-Only brand from China that entered India with the Atto 3 is now set to showcase much more at the Expo. Here’s what you can expect from the brand at the event:

BYD Seal
Dubbed the brand’s answer to the popular Tesla Model 3 for markets like Europe and China, the Seal is a born-electric performance sedan. Carrying the ocean-themed nomenclature in BYD’s EV range, the Seal sedan features an all-glass roof and much more. The sedan is longer and more spacious than the Model 3. Using the company’s Blade battery tech, the sedan will a testament to what the Chinese carmaker has in mind for India.
Lexus
Yes, you read it right. Lexus is coming to India, at least for the Expo. Here’s what you can witness.

LX 500d
Toyota is all set to bring the Lexus brand to the Auto Expo for the first time with several models on showcase. Starting with the Land Cruiser 300-based Lexus LX vehicle recently went on sale in India. Locking horns with the likes of Range Rover, the LX 500 is sold only with a diesel engine.

New-gen RX
Up on display will also be the latest RX SUV. With the company’s new Chapter Design Language, with a ‘spindle body’ appearance, the new generation RX will be slightly bigger than its predecessor with more of a coupé-like profile. In terms of power, a ‘350h’ strong-hybrid variant making 245PS can likely be offered. Upon launch, the vehicle can rival the BMW X5.

LC 500h
The LC 500h coupé with minor interior and exterior updates will also be up on display. Continue to be offered with a 3.5-litre V6 hybrid powertrain producing 359PS, the LC 500H this time will miss the V8 engine or convertible body style for India.

Next-gen Carnival
The new generation Carnival MPV will be up on showcase, which has already arrived in India for the Expo two years after its international debut. Internationally, the new generation Kia Carnival comes as a long (5.1m) MPV that offers automatic sliding doors with a huge cabin space on the inside. Juiced up by a 2.2-litre diesel engine tastefully mated to an 8-speed automatic, the New Carnival pumps 197 BHP of power with 440 Nm of torque. The USP of the Carnival is the fact that it is offered in 6, 7 and even 9-seater layouts.

EV9 Concept
Kia has already officially confirmed that it will showcase the Kia EV9 electric-SUV concept at the event. The EV9 concept is a showcase of Kia’s flagship all-electric SUV concept, which is as large as a Range Rover. The EV9 concept will showcase a rugged look and a new take on Kia’s signature Tiger Face grille. The EV9 Concept’s front ducts will also feature solar panels! Much like the EV6, the EV9 will also be based on the E-GMP architecture and will be topped with a 77.4kWh battery pack.

Sorento
The 2023 Kia Sorento SUV is another global best-seller from Kia that offers a huge wheelbase of 2815 mm. Comparing it with sister brand Hyundai, the Sorento is essentially the Santa Fe counterpart of Kia. Sharing a lot like transmission, powertrain and features to a large extent, the Sorento’s USP is the fact that it offers a 7-seater layout. If launched in India, the Sorento could lock horns with the likes of XUV 700, Harrier, Safari etc. While India-specific details are uncertain, in Europe, the Sorento comes with a 1.6L turbo petrol with a plug-in hybrid or self-charging mild hybrid and a 2.2L diesel powertrain. More details about the SUV will be revealed at the Auto Expo 2023.

Tata Punch EV
The Punch has already made a mark for itself in the automobile market. And now, the Punch EV will be one of the most anticipated models at the Expo. Based on Tata’s Sigma platform, the Punch EV can hit the market around the festive season of 2023. Expected to ride on a similar powertrain that features on Tata’s existing EVs, it is likely that the Punch EV will offer multiple battery packs. Expected to be priced at around 1 to 1.5 lakhs more than what the top-end variant of the Punch costs today, the Punch EV will be a great sight to watch.

Curvv and Avinya concepts
Last year, the carmaker showcased the Curvv and Avinya EV concepts, which will now be up for public display at the Expo for the first time. Based on Generation 2 of the Nexon EV platform, the Curvv is symbolic of future midsize coupe SUVs Tata has up its sleeve for 2024, which will offer both EV as well as ICE powertrains. The Avinya, on the other hand, is an all-electric vehicle that is based on Tata’s Gen 3 architecture. At the Expo, Tata will also showcase tech advancements such as new ADAS technology, hydrogen fuel, and updated connected car tech soon to feature on the Harrier and Safari facelifts.
