It seems like just before the launch of the fifth-generation Honda City, Japanese carmaker Honda has decides clear the remaining stocks of the current-gen BS6 compliant Honda City Off of the showroom floors as soon as possible. And in bid to attract customers Honda has now announced discount offers of upto Rs 1 lakh on the BS6 compliant version of the Honda City mid-size sedan.
Starting from the lower-spec variants the BS6 Honda City- SV MT, V MT and V CVT gets a straight Rs 25,000 cash discount with an exchange bonus of Rs 20,000 which brings the total amount of savings to Rs 45,000.
While the mid-level variant including VX MT- gets a cash discount of Rs 37,000 with an exchange bonus of Rs 35,000 summing up to an impressive Rs 72,000 of total savings.
However, the highest discounts are being offered on the top-spec variants of the BS6 Honda City ZX MT, VX CVT and ZX CVT get Rs 50,000 cash discounts along with an exchange bonus of 50,000 getting the total savings to Rs 1 lakh.

Additionally, the total saving could go higher for people who are eligible for corporate discounts. As of now, the current-gen Honda city starts from Rs 9.91 lakh and goes upto Rs 14.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The BS6-compliant Honda City offers a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine 117hp and 145Nm of torque. The BS6 compliant Honda City with the choice of a 5-speed manual or a CVT. The 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor is due to get an update in a few days.

According to these stats, the V, VX and the ZX Honda city BS6 variants have received a price hike due to the addition of an updated Digipad 2.0 infotainment system which comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in-built satellite-linked turn-by-turn navigation, live traffic support through a USB Wi-Fi receiver, voice command assist, and a wireless infrared remote. which to some eyes is of no use.
