India has been on a car buying spree for a while and manufacturers are grabbing onto this opportunity as hard as they can. Here’s a list of new cars launching in 2022!

MG Hector Facelift
One of the most popular cars on this list of new cars launching in 2022 is the MG Hector. Ever since MG has come to India, they have been spoiling us with features and tech. Well, the 2022 Hector is no different. With this update, the MG Hector will become a strong contender to the XUV700 as ADAS is highly anticipated on this SUV. Powertrains are expected to remain untouched. MG will also revamp the exterior and interior designs of the car and will add a huge 14-inch touchscreen up front. A diesel automatic variant for this SUV should be made available, considering the demand for the same. Prices are expected to go up by Rs. 80,000 – 1,50,000 depending on the variant.

Toyota Innova Hycross
The most reliable name on this list of new cars launching in 2022 is the Toyota Innova. The new Hycross version will be showcased later this year. The Innova Hycross will move from a ladder frame chassis to a monocoque chassis to accommodate the new hybrid petrol engine. It will also be an FWD system, as opposed to an RWD on the current Innova. Toyota is stepping hard into the hybrid segment with the Hyryder and now the Innova as well. Maruti is also expected to launch its own version of this MPV in the future.

BYD Atto 3
The first EV on this list of new cars launching in 2022 is from the Chinese automaker BYD. This will be their second product in India, and it is also pure electric. It is expected to launch by November 2022. The Atto 3 is a powerful EV producing over 200HP and 310nm. It features an ARAI-certified range of 521KMs on a single charge.

Jeep Grand Cherokee
The popular SUV from the USA, the Grand Cherokee, is finally coming to India on the 11th of November. The Grand Cherokee will make its way to India and will be locally assembled. Pricing for this SUV will be quite high. It will compete with cars like the BMW X1, Volvo XC60, Audi Q3, and Mercedes GLC. It is expected to launch as a 5-seater. The engine on this mammoth will be a 2L turbo petrol and a strong 4WD system will come along with it.

Mercedes Benz GLB
Mercedes has been teasing the GLB in India for a while now, and they’re finally launching it here. The GLB is a 7-seater SUV positioned under the GLE. Merc is expected to launch this SUV with a 1.3L turbo petrol and a 2L diesel. The petrol engine makes around 160HP, and the diesel makes around 190HP. The transmission can go two ways. It can either be a 7-speed DCT or an 8-speed AT.

Mercedes Benz EQB
Another Merc on this list of new cars launching in 2022! The EQB is the third EV MB will be launching in India after the EQC and the EQS. This one will be positioned just below the EQB and is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs. 65-70 Lakhs. Power figures for the Indian variant are not yet revealed. The range on this EV is up to 595KMs for the top-spec variant! This could be a game-changer in its segment!

Pravaig Electric SUV
Pravaig is a Bengaluru-based EV start-up that will be launching its first car in India very soon. There is very little revealed about this upcoming eSUV apart from the range and some other details. Pravaig claims a range of over 500KMs along with fast-charging support. The top speed for this EV is claimed to be over 200KM/hr. While the company is going ahead with an SUV for the launch, they had also showcased an electric sedan in 2020 which was called ‘Extinction’.

BMW XM
Another German on this list of new cars launching in 2022 is the BMW XM. The XM will be BMW’s first ‘M’ car to feature a full plug-in hybrid system. The SUV can do around 80KMs solely on electric power, which is a good number for city runs. The engine on this SUV is nowhere near other hybrids. It gets a 4.4L, twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 483HP. When combined, the engine and the battery together generate 653HP and 800m! Now, this is a hybrid we can get on board with!
