Citroen C3 CNG in the Making?

With the growing trend of CNG in India, Citroen is also planning to join the tribe by introducing the fuel in its Tata Punch Rival, the Citroen C3 CNG is expected to be a major update in the French brand’s first mass offering in India. The car comes with a price tag of Rs 5.88 lakh – Rs 8.15 lakh depending upon the variant you choose. If we talk about the engine options, the C3 has a 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. While the former makes 82bhp with 115Nm, the latter delivers 110bhp with 190Nm. Both motors are available with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Citroen C3 CNG is expected to be launched in India in the first quarter of 2023 and the gas-powered vehicle will be available with a 1.2-litre engine. The kit will be a factory-fitted one and for obvious reasons, the power figures will see a drop in comparison to the ICE cousin.

When launched, the Citroen C3 CNG will rival the currently on-sale Tiago CNG, Swift CNG, NIOS CNG and the upcoming Tata Punch CNG.

Apart from the CNG option, the French automaker is also aiming at launching an automatic version of the C3. This one will be the first torque converter car in its segment when launched.
