Citroen e-C3 EV | Here’s What We Know So Far!

Citroen tried capturing the micro-SUV market with the C3, however, the Tata Punch continues to rule the segment. Well, Citroen has another car in its pocket an all-electric version of the C3. This EV will be locally produced, and will also be exported. Citroen is confident that the pricing for this EV will be quite exciting, and that it should attract a large number of customers. Here’s what we know about the Citroen e-C3!

  • Citroen e-C3 – Design

From the looks of it, the e-C3 will look exactly how the ICE counterpart looks. This is done mainly to optimize costs. Most of the parts on both these cars are going to be identical. This is definitely not a complaint, the Citroen C3 is a good-looking car in itself. To add to the EV theme, green inserts on the front bumper, roof, and the ORVMs are expected. The interiors are also most likely going to be similar to the C3.

  • Battery and Range

Coming to the most important aspect of an EV, the battery and range. The Citroen e-C3 will be powered by a 30.2kWh battery. The definite range is not disclosed yet, but we do believe it should be around 350 KMs. The motor on this one will produce around 86HP and 143nm.

  • Pricing and competition

The Citroen e-C3 will be 100% local. This is done specifically for keeping the costs as low as possible. We expect the French EV to be priced between Rs. 10-12 Lakhs. The e-C3 will directly compete with the Tata Tiago EV, which is currently the cheapest EV in India. The Tiago EV gets a smaller 24kWh battery pack that delivers a range of 325 KMs (claimed). However, the Citroen e-C3 features a larger battery pack and it is also a bigger car in general.

  • India launch

The Citroen e-C3 is expected in India by January 2023. Citroen is heavily relying on exports to play through because the e-C3 will be the cheapest Citroen EV in the world. It is expected that around 25,000 units would be produced every year and a considerable chunk will be exported.
