Upcoming EVs Launching In 2023!

Planning on going electric soon? Well, 2023 might just be the year for you. With EV sales picking up pace in India, 2023 has a lot in store for us. Cars like the Tata Nexon EV and the Tigor EV are already visible on the roads. Even the MG ZSev and the Hyundai Kona are being spotted in decent numbers. With the new year around the corner, we have a list of upcoming EVs launching in 2023 for you! Go ahead, choose the one that suits you best!

  • Tata Altroz EV

The Tata Altroz EV is one of the most anticipated cars on this list of EVs launching in 2023. The platform is already electric-ready, and Tata is all set to launch this eHatch next year. This EV will most likely offer a range of around 350-400 KMs. The pricing should be around Rs. 10-15 Lakhs in India. The Altroz will be the fourth EV from Tata! Reports suggest that Tata is planning on doubling its EV production next year. A good year ahead for Tata indeed. Tata Altroz EV

  • Skoda Enyaq IV

One of the only Europeans on this list of EVs launching in 2023 is the Skoda Enyaq IV. It has been spotted in India a couple of times and is expected next year. The battery here would be an 82kWh unit which offers a range of over 500KMs. Power figures stand at 265HP. An all-wheel-drive system is expected on this eSUV. Pricing for the Enyaq is expected to hover around Rs. 55 Lakhs for India. Yes, it is pricey but this will be a CBU unit.

  • MG Air

The MG Air is the smallest car on this list of EVs launching in 2023! The Air is a 2-door mini-hatch. This EV is purely purposed for short city rides and grocery hauls. The small nature of the car will surely make it comfortable to drive in peak hours and wil help in tight parking spaces as well. The Air is expected to feature a ~25kWh battery pack which will offer a range of around 250KMs. The range sounds low but it is more than enough for a car built for city drives. Pricing may be higher up at around Rs. 10-12 Lakhs. If priced well, this EV could hit a very specific audience and will sell very well.

  • Mahindra XUV400

Mahindra has already showcased the XUV400 in India. It is another made-in-India EV on this list of EVs launching in 2023. The XUV400 is based on the current XUV300 and is identical in design and interiors. However, it is 200mm longer than the ICE counterpart. The 39.4kWh battery on this EV can drive your car 456 km on a single charge! The pricing of this EV will be similar to the Tata Nexon EV Max, around Rs. 18-20 Lakhs.

  • Hyundai Ioniq 5

Ever since the Kia EV6 was launched in India, we all have been waiting for the Hyundai Ioniq 5. This SUV shares its platform with the EV6 and will also share the battery. The 77.2kWh battery will be used to power an RWD setup and the expected range is 536KMs. Unlike the Kia EV6, the Ioniq 5 will not get the option of AWD. More importantly, this eSUV will be cheaper than the EV6. This is because Hyundai is planning on assembling this car here in India. This means that the expected pricing for this EV should be around Rs. 50 Lakhs. Yes, it is still pricey, but it is in the luxury EV segment.
