Toyota Innova Hycross | All We Know Till Now

With Toyota Innova Zenix officially unveiled in Indonesia, the Zenix’s Indian version; the Innova Hycross is all set to make its India debut next week. Since the Hycross is going to be almost identical to the Zenix, here’s all we know about the Hycross as of yet.

The Innova Hycross: Dimensions

Toyota Hycross

In terms of dimensions, the Hycross, much like the Zenix is expected to be 4,755mm long, 1,850mm wide and 1,795mm high. For the wheelbase, the new-gen Innova will be 100mm longer at 2,850mm which will translate to the better cabin and interior spacing. The ground clearance will however see no change and will continue to be 185 mm. A big change, however, can be seen in terms of the new-gen Innova’s design language which is now more SUV inspired rather than MPV. Despite changes, the vehicle still throws off the unmistakable Innova sass. The front profile is aggressive and has a large hexagonal grille wearing a contrast black treatment with chrome surrounds.

The wide front bumper has a rather refreshing air intake in the centre that tastefully blends with triangular units on either corner, which, accommodate the wide, horizontal LED DRLs. The headlamps are now wider and wrap around the body with dual LED housings and chrome separators. There is also an eyebrow-like DRL on the top.

Much like the exteriors, the interiors are also revamped. The new dash features a twin-layer layout, sparing more space for the driver and co-passenger. The unique-looking dash is complemented by a stunning centre console, steering and a fully digital cluster. Air con vents get a silver finish with a 10-inch floating touch infotainment that captures the eye. The Hycross also brings back a dash-mounted gear lever that gives additional space to the front riders. The seating is given a premium finish with dual tone on the higher trims, along with an all-black option as well. Seating-wise, the Hycross will be both a 7 and 8-seater.

The Innova Hycross: Powertrain

Coming to the meat of the matter the new Innova Hycross will be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol burner that could be paired with 5th-generation strong hybrid tech (the M20A FXS). This engine will use an Atkinson or Miller cycle for efficiency and will produce 152hp with 187Nm of torque paired to an electric motor for a combined power output of 186hp.
