Haima, the Chinese carmaker has kept its promise. The carmaker has come to the Auto Expo 2020 showcasing three different products.
The product which grabbed the most attention at the auto show is the Haima E1 EV, the company’s affordable, long-range EV. The Haima E1 EV will be entering the Indian car market partnering with Bird Electric.
The car will be imported through the CKD method (completely knocked down) and will be manufactured in Bird Electric’s manufacturing plant.

Haima E1 EV | Exteriors + Interiors
The Haima E1 EV has a rather simple and practical look on the outside. The upright stance of the car projects an uncanny resemblance to the Maruti WagonR. While the design may seem a bit outdated to many, it is surely going to score some points on the practicality front.
The tallboy design of the vehicle make sure that there is plenty of headroom and the taller passengers don’t feel cramped up in the vehicle.
Although, there’s a possibility that the India specific car might have a different look.

Haima E1 EV | Battery Specifications
The Haima E1 EV has a 34kW lithium-ion battery pack which powers the vehicle. The battery in the vehicle produces 54 hp and churns out a torque of 140 Nm. The car battery when fully charged gives out a range of 302 kilometres.
What To Expect?
The EV will focus on checking the practicality and economy parameter when launched. The power figures aren’t exactly impressive but might impress the conservative consumer.
The car is expected to be priced at ₹10 lakhs without Government subsidies. The car is slated for the Indian market for early 2022.
Apart from the E1, Haima has also showcased the 8S SUV and the 7X MPV at the Auto Expo 2020. Many of the carmakers are showcasing their electric prowess at the Auto Expo 2020. Will Haima change the EV game in India is a question that can be answered in a few years.
