Jeep is currently preparing and working on a compact SUV to launch in International market. This will be an entry-level SUV and is the smallest Jeep yet.
Compact SUV’s have been popular for a while now and Jeep seems to be trying to get on that train before its too late. India already prefers compact SUV with cars like Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza doing well.
Jeep’s European Head of Brand Marketing Marco Pigozzi said that even though the new car is a compact SUV they will still not go away from what makes Jeep, the offroading capabilities will still be present in the car.

When it launches, this Jeep will be the first compact SUV to get an all-wheel-drive in India. Along with being a small SUV, it needs to have aggressive pricing to rival the other already-dominant cars in the market.
Jeep Compass is the smallest Jeep priced at 27.6 Lakhs INR for the top variant. The SUV uses a 2.0L diesel engine sourced from Fiat. The engine produces 170 hp and 350Nm. 1.4L turbocharged engine is the other option. This engine outputs 160hp and 250Nm.
The compact SUV if introduced in India will be a tough challenge for every other sub-4M car in the Indian market as of now. It should be noted that developing countries tend to prefer compact SUV.

Jeep is also evaluating a seven-seater option to introduce in India to challenge cars like Tata Gravitas and MG Hector.
The compact SUV could launch next year in India due to the current popularity of the segment in the Indian market.
