That said, after the Celerio, it is time to update the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. That said, it’s been some time that the spy shots of the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift are floating on the internet. But before the company launches the Baleno facelift, allow us to tell you the thing we know so far about this hatchback. So, let’s dive straight in.

1. Revised Dashboard
   

   

   The main attraction on the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno has to be the interior, dashboard to be precise. After scouting of details in the spy shots, it’s clear that the Baleno will be getting new placement for the front AC vents. Now, the AC vents are places a little low, beneath the infotainment system.

   With that, the steering also is likely to be revised. The testing car was spotted with the same flat-bottom steering as the Ertiga, Dzire and Swift. A new dashboard means better-looking switches and an overall layout.

2. Bigger Infotainment Screen
   

   

   The next big upgrade that was spotted in the new Maruti Baleno is the new infotainment screen. As of now, Baleno is using the same infotainment systems as the rest of the company’s car lineup. But with the introduction of the new Baleno, it might be the first vehicle from Maruti to get an upgraded infotainment system.

   That said, currently, Maruti Suzuki is using a 7-inch infotainment system. But in the spy shot images, the screen easily is at least 8-inch if not bigger.

3. Wireless Smartphone connectivity
   

   One of the features that have become the new standard is wireless smartphone connectivity. Well, talking about the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno, it is highly likely that this hatch gets this feature. Wireless smartphone connectivity includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Now, this means, if you possess the new Baleno, you’ll be able to connect your smartphone to the infotainment system wirelessly. No strings attached!

4. Exterior Changes
   

   

   A facelift is incomplete without some cosmetic changes on the outside. And the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno gets exactly that. Speaking of which, the Baleno facelift will feature redesigned front and rear bumper also including a different front grille. With that, new LED headlights with led DRLs and all-new taillights are a bonus.

   

   But sadly, the taillights in the spy shots are not all LEDs. This might also reflect in the production variant as it’ll get halogen bulbs for the turn signs and the reverse light. Lastly, the Baleno facelift is bound to get new different 16-inch alloy wheels in its top-end trim.

5. Changes under the hood
   

   

   When it comes to powertrain, Maruti Suzuki is a little Miser and spends the same engine in a lot of its vehicles. Then too, the company refrains from introducing a new engine. Now, as per our sources, the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno will likely get the same powertrain. The Baleno sold in the market right now gets a couple of engine options. Both the motors displace 1.2-litre and are naturally aspirated petrol engines.

   One produces 82ps and the other generates 90ps of max power. Also, the more powerful powertrain also gets the mild-hybrid tech from Suzuki. However, there are speculations of Maruti Suzuki Baleno getting a hybrid powertrain. An interesting thing to note is that the being tested was the automatic variant might be CVT.

6. Additional Features?
   

   

   There are numerous features, we wish the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno should come with as most of its competition gets at least one or even all these features. Starting with the rear AC vents. In the last update of Maruti Suzuki Swift, we did expect it to get rear AC vents just like the Dzire but hard luck.

   This is something that is a part of almost all cars in its segment. Next, we also expect a Maruti car to get a sunroof. This is something non of the cars from the Maruti Suzuki line-up gets.

Expected Launch Date

As of now, there are is no concrete date of when Maruti will launch the Baleno facelift. Before the Baleno facelift, it is the Maruti Celerio facelift’s launch in the pipeline. So, we can expect the company to launch the new Baleno somewhere in the starting months of 2022.
