Maruti Suzuki has officially price launched the new Swift CNG, four months after the petrol version launch. Swift CNG range starts from ₹8.20 lakh (ex-showroom), with three trims: VXi, VXi(O), and ZXi.

Maruti Swift CNG: All new Z-series engine
The Maruti Swift CNG comes installed with the new Z-series 1.2-litre engine. It has a fuel efficiency of 32.85km/kg (ARAI), which is 6% better than the preceding Swift CNG(1.2-litre K-series engine). As before, the Swift CNG is only available with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The engine produces 69.75hp and 101.8Nm of torque with CNG. The CNG trims also bear an output drop like the new petrol variants. The previous generation produced 77hp.
The single-cylinder CNG in the boot is unlike the newer twin-cylinder setup seen in Hyundai and Tata models.
Maruti Swift CNG: Features & Specs
The base VXi trim bags features like six airbags, ESC, remote central locking, halogen projector headlamps, and 14-inch steel wheels, power windows.
The mid-level VXi (O) adds a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.
The ZXi CNG trim, offered for the first time, includes LED projector headlamps with DRLs, 15-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, rear washer wiper and wireless charging.
Maruti mentions that the new high-spec trim was introduced as the customer demanded a well-equipped hatchback with a stock CNG kit.
Maruti Suzuki CNG: Sales & Target
Maruti, now a giant in the CNG market, is targeting the sale of six lakh CNG vehicles this year. Last year CNG sales reached 4.77 lakh in numbers.
As of now, Maruti has sold 2.21 lakh CNG cars during the April to August 2024 period. The Indian manufacturer has sold nearly 67,000 Swift units since its launch.
The Swift CNG expects an increased demand, especially in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh as the key markets for Maruti’s CNG models. Deliveries for the Swift CNG will begin this weekend in Gujarat.
