MG Hector Plus Variant-wise Features Explained

MG Motors India is all set to launch the Bigger, Bader and Bolder edition of the Hector SUV the MG Hector Plus on July 13th 2020. The new age MG Hector Plus will be offered in a 6 seater configuration (2+2+2) and will be launched in three trim levels; Super, Smart and Sharp. With Super being the base, Smart being the mid-spec and the Sharp being the top-spec variant.

Coming to its engine specification the new big MG will be offered with 3 engine options sourced from its 5-seater Hector SUV- 1.5L turbo-petrol (143bhp), 1.5L petrol hybrid (143bhp) and 2.0L diesel (170bhp). The entry-level ‘Super’ trim will be offered with a 2.0L diesel engine, the mid-spec Smart trim will be offered with two engine options a 1.5L turbo-petrol or 2.0L diesel unit. While the top-spec ‘Sharp’ variant will be offered with all three engine option. Additionally, the whole line-up will be paired with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox with an optional DCT automatic gearbox will be reserved for the 1.5L turbo-petrol and 1.5L petrol hybrid options only.

Interior Features

On the inside, the base variant will come equipped with a massive 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, height-adjustable driver seat, AC vents for the second row, leather-wrapped armrest with storage, Four speakers and two tweeters, second-row captain seats with slide and recline function, individual armrests for the second-row occupants, tilt-adjustable steering with mounted controls, four speakers and two tweeters and USB charging port in all three rows.

On the outside, the new bigger and slightly better Hector plus boasts a new backed-out front chrome grille, LED headlamps, Halogen fog lamps, a new set of 17-inch silver alloy wheels, Shark-fin antenna, electrically adjustable ORVMs and LED tail lamps.

Safety Features

Safety has been a big problem for almost every carmaker but this time MG has made sure that the new 3-row Hector features some basic safety features including dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic stability control, Hill hold control, Cruise control, Traction control system, Front and rear parking sensors, reverse parking camera and speed-sensing auto door lock.

Some unique features on the inside include smoked Sepia brown leather seats, i-Smart Internet car technology, Push-button start-stop, 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel and infinity music system with four speakers, four tweeters, subwoofer with an amplifier to get that party going and a telescopic adjustable multifunctional steering wheel.

Unique exterior features include LED fog lamps, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and Electrically folding ORVMs.

Side airbags, Tyre pressure monitoring system, Electric parking brake (DCT only)

Unique features on the Inside include a seven-inch coloured MID, automatic climate control, Panoramic sunroof, a 4-way power-adjustable front passenger seat reserved for the petrol and diesel models only and Eight colour ambient lighting system.

some out of the box features on the top-spec variant will include Heated ORVMs, powered tailgate with smart swipe function and rain-sensing wipers.

Safety Features

On the safety front, the top-spec sharp variant will have an adaptive 360-degree camera and 6 curtain-style airbags as unique features.

(Note -Apart from all the basic features sourced from the basic and the mid-spec variant, the top-spec variant will come equipped with the above mentioned unique features)
