Amaze has been the best-selling car from Honda’s stable since its launch in 2013. It has been outselling the City with great margins every month. The current model was a big upgrade from the previous generation of Amaze. But the new generation of the model is due as it has been in its 2nd generation since 2018. At launch this year, the Amaze will be in its third generation.
What We Expect from The New Honda Amaze?
The Honda Amaze was a compact sedan rivaling Maruti’s Dzire, the best seller in the segment. Even with the Maruti against it, the Amaze had a decent market share. The next-gen Amaze will also focus on its key selling propositions: affordability, reliability, low maintenance, and a decent performing efficient engine.
The 2024 Next-Gen Honda Amaze Can Have an All-New Platform
There has been news that the next Honda Amaze will use a platform that is different from the one used by the City. The new platform is expected to be built on a much safer and space-maximizing design. It will definitely be shorter than the City as it will be a sub 4 meter sedan.
Expected Interior in The Next-Gen Honda Amaze
The next-gen Honda Amaze can have significant additions and upgrades over the previous-gen model. It can have a better-integrated infotainment system which does not look like an aftermarket fitment. It will support wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The AC control panel is expected to be a physical knob and button type panel with climate control option available even in some lower trim levels. The interior lighting can be LED rather than the bulbs used currently. The seats might get an option of leatherette seats with electric adjust for the driver’s seat.
Expected Improved Safety Tech in The Next-Gen Honda Amaze
The new Amaze will have a better-optimized ACE body structure platform than the current generation. The car can get the option of additional airbags which can take the count up to 4 or even 6 in the top variants. It will retain the standard ABS with EBD and ISOFIX seat mounts.
The Drivetrain in The Next-Gen Amaze
The third-generation Amaze is likely to keep the same 1.2-liter, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated gas engine that powers the current model. This engine makes 90hp power at 6000rpm and 110Nm of torque at 4800rpm. Either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic will be to choose from.
Next-Gen Honda Amaze Expected Variants and Prices
It is obvious to see Honda introducing the Next-gen Amaze with a very basic lower trim to keep the introductory prices competitive and also cater to the commercial segment. The current model of Amaze is available in just two trim options namely ‘S’ and ‘VX’. However, we expect Honda to introduce at least two more trim levels between the current two.
The introductory price will be around Rs. 7.5 lakhs for the base variant and can go upwards of 10 lakhs for the fully loaded trim.
