Amidst the deadly coronavirus outbreak which has engulfed over 150 countries. Skoda auto Volkswagen India has started producing face shields and other PPE (Personal protective equipment) at the company’s Chakan plant near Pune.
The brand has shared several images of the designated PPE being produced at the facility which will be provided to all the healthcare personal, first responders and infected patients. The face shields have been designed to stop infected droplets from coming in contact with an infected patient.

These designated face shields will be reusable and can be used for upto 8 hours in a single stretch before being sanitized and used again. Skoda auto Volkswagen will also produce a certain amount of facemasks for which the design and the material used have been approved by the Dean and ICU staff at the Sassoon General Hospital.

Additionally, Skoda auto Volkswagen will also be donating over 35,000 hand sanitizers to various hospitals in Mumbai, Pune and Aurangabad. Skoda auto Volkswagen India has also collaborated with various NGO’s in Aurangabad in order to distribute over 50,000 food packets to the needy.
Furthermore, the company has also pledged over Rs 1 Crore towards medical aid that will help accommodate over 1,000 coronavirus patients which are being set up at the Sassoon General Hospital in Pune. The designated amount also includes the amount which will be used to manufacture the designated medical and personal protective equipment for medical personal and first responders.
