New Skoda Elroq
Skoda has introduced the new Elroq electric SUV worldwide, showcasing the brand’s ‘Modern Solid’ design approach. Skoda’s initial electric vehicle in the midsize SUV segment fills the gap between the “Enyaq iV” flagship and the “Epiq compact EV” set to be released in 2025. It is already available for purchase in Europe and although there is no official confirmation yet, Skoda India is considering launching it in India.
Exterior
Skoda introduced the Modern Solid design language in the Vision 7S concept in 2022, with the standout feature being the ‘Tech-Deck Face’. The traditional Skoda butterfly grille has been replaced by a new black panel that stretches across the front and includes four LED daytime running light segments on each side.
The primary headlights are located on the bumper, and the vertical air vents extending down from the headlamp cluster add a nice design element. The front bumper is equipped with durable plastic cladding, and a fake silver skid plate, and includes active cooling vents that close automatically to decrease air resistance.
Interior
Similar to the Enyaq, the interior also features a winged design on the dashboard. It also features the identical 13-inch central infotainment screen with the AC vents located underneath. There is a tidy arrangement of physical buttons that act as quick access to features such as ADAS, drive modes, climate controls, and other functions. Next, there is the aforementioned new steering wheel and a modern digital instrument cluster just right after it.
Launch Details
Skoda India is thinking about introducing the Elroq in India, which will compete with the Tata Curvv EV, the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, and Maruti eVX. Skoda claims to have reached price equality between the Elroq and the ICE-powered Karoq in Europe and believes it could also be competitively priced in India.
