What’s special about the Tata Altroz i-Turbo?
The name of the vehicle says it all. The unique aspect of the Tata Altroz i-Turbo definitely has to be the new turbo petrol engine. This engine in the Altroz makes it the most powerful Altroz ever and also the cheapest hatch in the Indian market to get the turbo treatment.
- Powering this premium hatch is the same engine that also powers the Tata Nexon, i.e a 1.2-litre MPI 3 cylinder petrol engine. But don’t get too excited as this engine is heavily detuned.
- The motor is capable of producing 110ps of max power and produces a peak torque of 140Nm.
- Considering the size and the weight, it is claimed that Altroz can do a sprint from 0-100 in around 11.8 seconds. It’s normal, nothing to boast about it.
The unique feature on the inside is the new iRA connected car tech along with additional two tweeters to a total output of 8 speakers in the vehicle. The cheery on the cake is the sound system which is developed by Harman.
The Altroz i-Turbo rivals the likes of Hyundai i20 Turbo and Volkswagen Polo.
