Tata motor looks eager to gain back the Indian audience after a long period of the automobile industry slump. The Indian automaker is working on a variety of new vehicles which will be launched in 2020 for the Indian market. One such vehicle is the 7-seat version of Tata Harrier, named Gravitas.
- A test mule of the 7-seat SUV was spotted in Tamil Nadu. The Tata Gravitas has been already introduced globally at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in March and is expected to launch at the Auto Expo 2020.
- The spied mule shows that the Gravitas, for the most part, will be identical to the Harrier. But due to the extra seating, there is a visible increase in the length. Although it is not visible on the test mule, the SUV can be expected to get an upgraded LED tail lamp cluster, tailgate and a roof spoiler.
- The interiors can be expected to be the same as that of the Harrier which included 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto support, automatic climate control, keyless entry, cruise control and coloured instrumental cluster.
- It is expected to be powered by the Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine which will churn out 167 bhp of power and a peak torque of 350Nm. It will be linked with a standard 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission may be offered as an option.
- The Tata Gravitas once launched will lock horns with MG Hector, Toyota Innova Crysta, Mahindra XUV 500 and Jeep Compass. Gravitas seems to have strong competition in the Indian market.
Tata has already revealed Altroz recently. The future looks good for Tata, apparently. The company has also launched an all-electric version of India’s safest car, Nexon which is named Tata Nexon EV which is based on the revolutionary Ziptron Technology.
