We would surely like to highlight the fact that Tata Punch has installed both child occupants as rearward facing offering maximum safety to the child dummies as well. Talking about the driver and passenger at the front, the neck, chest and knees offered good protection. The tibias provided adequate protection for both driver and passenger. Coming to the bodyshell, the Tata Punch NCAP test resulted to be stable and capable of withstanding further loads.
The Tata Punch NCAP test also included the side impact on the car and it’s not difficult to guess that this micro SUV passed the UN95 side impact test. It has the front passenger seatbelt reminder that passes the requirement and it also offers standard 4 channel ABS.
The Tata Punch is based on the same ALFA platform as the Tata Altroz which is why it has scored a similar safety rating in the global NCAP test. Apart from this, the standard safety features on the Punch include dual airbags, ABS, EBD, brake sway control, seatbelt reminder, high-speed alert, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
With the Tata Punch scoring a 5-star GNCAP rating, Tata has yet again proved that they are the ones manufacturing safe cars in India. Just to brush your memory up, the Nexon was the first car to get a 5-star rating. Tigor and Tiago also have a 4-star GNCAP rating and last but not least, the Altroz also has a 5-star rated safety!
