This year’s Auto Expo saw various car manufacturers showcasing their innovative concepts and new cars. Among them were Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki. Both the companies showcased their versions of Sierra. Tata Sierra and the Suzuki Jimny Sierra were the two SUVs that made the crowd mad. Let’s have a look at both the SUVs.
Tata Sierra EV | The Legend Electrified
The Indian automaker unveiled a concept electric version of the well-known Sierra at the Auto Expo 2020. The company has not yet confirmed whether the EV will hit the markets or not, it has hinted that it may think of it. The two-door design has been kept alive in the EV. The SUV used to rule the roads in its time and if the company plans to launch it in the market, it will surely take the market by storm.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny Sierra | The Legacy
The Jimny Sierra is being sold in over 190 countries and has been showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. You must have heard about the Gypsy for sure. The Jimny if launched will be the successor to the Gypsy. It can be expected to launch under Gypsy branding as the name has a cult following in the country. The rectangular body design, the compact structure is what the Jimny is known for. The Jimny comes powered by a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that churns out a power of 100hp and a peak torque of 130Nm which is more than enough for an SUV of this size. The company plans to sell the Jimny through the Nexa channel of premium cars.
