Maruti Suzuki (1,03,187 Units)
Without any doubt, Maruti Suzuki has the lead in terms of car sales in the month of August 2021 too. The Indian automaker has ended up selling 1,03,187 units that means an 8.71% decrease from what MSIL sold in the same month last year. Now that we already know Maruti is on the top, even an 8% decline means a heavy one! Hoping to see a growth figure in the next month, let’s move on to the next brand.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (46,866 Units)
The launch of the all-new Hyundai i20 N-Line is definitely expected to give a push to car sales in September. For now, among the top-selling car brands in August 2021, HMIL stands second with a sale of 46,866 units. If we consider the YoY figures, this brand has experienced a 2.31% growth which is a good figure for sure.

Tata Motors (28,018 Units)
The Indian automaker is growing day by day! Tata Motors India ended up selling 28,018 units in the month of August 2021 that means a YoY growth of a whopping 50.77%! Now that the Tigor EV is also here in the market, we can expect the sales to grow a bit because of the latest EV shift in the market trend.

Kia Motors (16,750 Units)
On the 4th rank, we have another Korean automaker in India who has gained immense popularity over a short period of time. Now that Kia is also planning on new stuff to be in the game, we hope they will rise in terms of sales number for sure. For August 2021, Kia Motors ended up selling 16,750 Units with a YoY change of 54,45%.

Mahindra & Mahindra (15,973 Units)
The King! Mahindra has finally brought in the XUV700 which is expected to boost the sales of the Indian automaker by at least 5x! For now, Mahindra ended up August 2021 with a sale of 15,973 units and a YoY growth of 17.01%. We expect the XUV700 to be the flagbearer for sales of this brand in India in the coming months.

Toyota Kirloskar Motors (12,772 Units)
The Japanese automaker in India is just rebadging nowadays. We hope Toyota brings in its vehicles in the Indian market really soon. We can expect the arrival of the Toyota Belta soon in the Indian market. Till then, Toyota ended up selling 12,772 units with a YoY growth of 129.92%.

Honda Cars India (11,177 Units)
Another successful Indian brand that has been down in recent months. We guess they are not expanding their lineup in the affordable range which is why they have not been able to rank better in the sales report. For August 2021, they ended up selling 11,177 units which are 48.85% more than what they sold in the same month last year.

Renault India (9,703 Units)
Towards the end of the list, we have Renault in 8th place. With a sale of 9,703 units, Renault has reported a 20.38% growth in terms of YoY stats. This number is surely not a great one but is definitely a good one considering the competition in the market and how Renault is fighting for sales with the segment leaders!

Morris Garages (4,315 Units)
In the second last place, we have Morris Garages India. With a sale of 4,315 units, this brand is more or less stable in terms of sales. If you look at the YoY numbers, you would see a 51.35% growth but if you see the ranking, MG has not been able to climb up in the top 5 any day.

Skoda India (3,829 Units)
The one that has led to the boost in the sale of the Czech automaker. Skoda has grown over 281% in the same month from the last year. Skoda India recorded a sale of 3,829 units and is at the 10th rank among the top-selling car brands in India for August 2021.
