We are not at all surprised this time to see who’s on the top. You guessed it right! Maruti Suzuki has once again lead the sales chart. They are India’s largest automaker and are extremely popular among the Indian audience because of their excellent fuel-efficient models. The sad news is that Maruti Suzuki too received a drop of 2.3% in the second month of 2020! Let’s have a look at the top-selling cars in India for the month of February 2020.
-
Maruti Suzuki Swift
This doesn’t surprise us anymore. The first among the top-selling cars in February 2020 is the Maruti Suzuki Swift. This car is India’s favourite hatch ever since it was launched. This time it has managed to score a sale number of 18,696 units. Maruti’s largest selling hatchback is currently powered by a 1197cc petrol engine and a 1248cc diesel engine. The car comes at a starting price of Rs. 5.19 Lakhs. The possible reason for the high sale numbers of this car is the excellent mileage it delivers. The Maruti Swift delivers a claimed mileage of 21.21 kmpl! Worth the price we guess!
-
Maruti Suzuki WagonR
This one stands second on the list of the top-selling cars in February 2020. WagonR is a popularly used hatch as it delivers excellent fuel efficiency too. You can find this hatch catering every type of audience as it is available in CNG for those who count on mileage and AMT for those who want comfort and convenience! The tallboy from MSIL has already left the Santro facelift behind in terms of sales. Hyundai Santro and Maruti WagonR were facelifted almost at the same time but the sale numbers show that the audience has loved the WagonR over the Santro every time. WagonR sold a total of 18,235 units in Feb 2020.

Maruti Alto
The small hatch from the automaker is nowhere behind in terms of giving a tough competition to its siblings. The 800cc hatch is still doing wonders in the market despite so much competition from the Datsun RediGo and the Renault Kwid! People still decide to go for Alto over others. The brand name might be one of the reasons behind this but the excellent fuel efficiency delivered by Alto is also a factor to count on. This makes it stand third on the list of top-selling cars in February 2020.
-
Maruti Baleno
Here we see another one coming from the largest automaker in India. Maruti Suzuki Baleno stands fourth on the list of top-selling cars in February 2020. The Baleno is a tough competition to Hyundai’s i20 as they belong to the same segment of premium hatches. With the launch of Tata Altroz, the competition has become hotter now and we are yet to see if the new entrant from Tata is anywhere able to compete the Baleno in terms of sales. Hyundai fans don’t worry! i20 is on the list too. Make sure you read until the end!
-
Kia Seltos
This one has single-handedly built up the brand’s identity in India. The Kia Seltos has been a huge success. Kia has recently launched the Carnival in India but we will have to say that Seltos has stood among the competition really well and made a mark for Kia in the Indian market. It’s a proud moment for Kia to be in the list of top-selling cars in February 2020 with just one model down their lineup. The Indian audience has loved the SUV but Hyundai has now come up with the 2020 Creta facelift. Tough competition ahead. FYI, Kia Seltos sold a total of 14,024 units this month.
-
Maruti Ertiga
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ended up sixth on the table with a sale of 11,782 units. This MPV is extremely popular. Maruti launched a sporty avatar of the Ertiga in the name of XL6 but it has not climbed up the sales chart yet. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga continues to do good in the Indian market. This MPV comes at a starting price of Rs. 8.57 Lakhs which is quite affordable for a car of this segment.
-
Maruti Eeco
This one is an absolute surprise! Though it makes it into this list every time, we are still surprised that how this car is able to surpass all the modern-day cars with all the high tech features in terms of sales! This utility vehicle from MSIL with minimal features and safety still ranks among the top-selling cars. This time is has stood 7th on the list of top-selling cars in February 2020.
-
Hyundai Grand i10
The first car other than the MSIL lineup in this list is Hyundai’s Grand i10. This car managed to sell a total of 10,407 units this month. The automaker has now also introduced company fitted CNG in the Grand i10 but it has also not resulted in a push in the sales that was highly expected. The sporty looking hatch from Hyundai comes at a starting price of Rs. 6.06 Lakhs.
-
Hyundai Venue
The sub-compact SUV from Hyundai stands 9th on the list of top-selling cars in February 2020. With a sale of 10,321 units, the Venue is the second Hyundai car to make it into this list. The venue was launched in India in May 2019 and is doing fairly well in terms of sales. Though this car was much anticipated, it has not been able to outshine and beat the largest selling cars in the Indian market.
-
Hyundai i20
The premium hatch from Hyundai is the last one on the list of top-selling cars in February 2020. Maruti Suzuki Baleno is the all-time favourite for the Indian audience which makes this one lose the pace. Though this one from Hyundai is power-packed and has got all the modern-day features, it somewhere fails to make the ends meet in terms of sales. The Hyundai i20 sold a total of 8,766 units in February 2020.
