Reason behind the recall?

  • This Toyota Hyryder recall has been initiated due to a faulty seat belt shoulder height adjuster.
  • Toyota suspects that the defect is in one of the child parts of the seat belt shoulder height adjuster assembly which could lead to its disassembly.
  • Under the recall, the faulty part will be replaced for free at the brand’s authorized service stations.
  • Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted by their respective dealerships.
  • Although, no failure or accident has been reported as of now.
  • It is also suspected that a few units of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara can also get affected as the brand produces both models at its manufacturing facility in Bidadi, Karnataka.

  • This 1.5-litre petrol mill comes paired with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.
  • While the hybrid variants get an e-CVT (planetary gearbox).
  • In a new development over 9,000 Grand Vitara, XL6 and Ertiga have also been recalled due to the same issue.
