Why Did Toyota Recall Over 6,00,000 Vehicles In a Day?

It’s sad but true Japanese auto major Toyota in a deliberate attempt announced a safety recall for over 6,00,000 cars which initially includes both Toyota and Lexus crossovers, and SUVs manufactured from 2018 to 2019. With that said the vehicles have been recalled in the US and not India.

The main reason for Toyota to recall these vehicles was as they were equipped with faulty fuel pumps which could have the affected vehicle’s operating system, Toyota said in a press release.

Adding further a senior spokesperson from the company stated that “If this were to occur, warning lights and messages may be displayed on the instrument panel, and the engine may run rough. This can result in a vehicle stall, and the vehicle may be unable to be restarted. If a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash”

Among the list of affected vehicle were the Toyota 4Runner, Camry, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, Avalon, Corolla, and Tundra, as well as the Lexus LS 500, LC 500, RC 350, RC 300, GS 350, IS 300, ES 350, LX 570, GX 460, RX 350 NX 300, RX 350L, and GS 300. The Avalon, Corolla, NX 300, RX 350L, and the GS 300.
