Recently, Honda unveiled the 2020 Honda City for the Indian market. And now the Japanese automaker is all set to launch the 2020 Honda WR-V facelift. Honda has announced that the subcompact crossover’s facelift will be launching on 2nd of July. What can you expect from the car? Let’s have a look.
Will there be any changes to the engine and transmission?
The pre-facelift Honda WR-V has two BS6 engine options: a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Apart from getting compliant to BS6 emission norms, you can expect the engines to remain the same. These two engines currently power the Honda Amaze. The i-VTEC petrol engine on the sedan produces 88.7hp@6,000rpm and 110Nm@4,800rm of torque. The i-DTEC Diesel engine produces 98.6hp@3,600rpm and a peak torque of 200Nm@1,750rpm. You can expect the 2020 Honda WR-V to have these engine options paired to manual transmission as standard. As for the automatic transmission, we will have to wait till launch.
New Honda WR-V: What are the key updates?
The company You can expect the 2020 Honda WR-V to be offered in two trims, SV and VX. For the SV variant, you will get dual front airbags, rear defogger, rear parking camera, 16-inch alloy wheels, projector headlamps, automatic climate control, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support and much more.
As for the VX variant, you can expect electric powered sunroof, leather-wrapped steering, keyless entry and go and cruise control.
Price and Rivals
The 2020 Honda WR-V is expected to be priced at around ₹8.3lakhs for the petrol variant while ₹9.7lakhs for the diesel variant. It will be locking horns with the rivals such as Ford Ecosport, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue.
