Yes, it’s a bit strange and hard to digest but it’s true the all-new next generation swift will be the safest Maruti Suzuki car ever produced which means that the new model will be safer than the Maruti Suzuki Ignis which hold 3-star on the Global NCAP safety scale.
Although the current-gen Swift already comes with dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors and ABS with EBD as standard. It also comes equipped with a reverse parking camera and front fog lamps which are reserved for higher-level variants. The new 2020 edition could add ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and hill assist but that is being said to have been reserved for the AMT variants.

If we go by the reports published by leading media houses the new 2020 swift could look the same as the recently launched Japanese spec variant but just from the outside which feature a very sleek and sporty looking new bumper and unlike the new chrome-plated studded grille on the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the new swift looks quite subtle with its minor tweaked up look.

2020 Maruti Suzuki Swift | More Powerful and Fuel Efficient
The 2020 Swift could come equipped with a 1.2-litre petrol Dualjet petrol unit along with the idle stop-start feature. The upgraded engine will be capable of generating almost 88hp which is about 6hp higher than the current-gen swift which does 83hp. Although the torque on both the engine remains the same at 113Nm.
As stated before it will also feature an idle start-stop feature which will eventually help improving its fuel economy. The idle start-stop button will automatically turn off the car when the accelerator is released and will automatically turn on when the accelerator pedal is pressed.

The new swift could support some latest in-line features such as the all-new 7.0-inch touchscreen Suzuki SmartPlay Studio infotainment system along with an updated 4.2-inch multi-information colour display. Maruti could include cruise control as well.
