The 2021 Force Gurkha; possible the only existing rival to the Mahindra Thar, after the departure of the much loved Maruti Gypsy. And the Force Gurkha is making a comeback in a BS6 avatar. Last showcased in the 2020 Auto Expo, the Gurkha promised great big things and in the candy orange paint scheme grabbed the most eyeballs in the event. Check out these 7 things that you need to know about the upcoming 2021 Force Gurkha.
-
More Rugged Design
If it was more rugged before, it is supremely rugged now. The 2021 Gurkha will get a slightly updated exterior with more buff looks with a snorkel and a huge roof rail. The Gurkha, as seen in the above image in orange, will also get new paint schemes.
-
Updated Interiors
If Force is launching the new Gurkha, it should be updated as per the year 2021. The New Gurkha will be offered with a snorkel (which allows for greater water-wading capability) new LED headlamps with LED DRLs, a huge roof carrier, bulky wheel cladding, and blacked-out ORVMs.
On the inside, it is expected that the Gurkha will get an updated infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

A BS6 Powertrain
As with every existing vehicle today, the 2021 Force Gurkha will feature a BS6-Complaint engine. It is expected that the new Gurkha will feature the 2.6L Diesel Engine (same as the BS6, in a BS6 tune) mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. A 4X4 drivetrain system will also be offered with the new Gurkha.
-
New Safety Norms
The 2021 Gurkha is also expected to be much safe than its predecessor. The new Gurkha will feature Pedestrian Safety Norms. The Gurkha is expected to come with a completely new chassis to comply with current safety norms. Great move, Force Motors!
-
Major Rivals
Since the departure of the iconic Maruti Gypsy, there hasn’t been any real rival for the recently updated Mahindra Thar. The 2021 Gurkha will offer a choice for such customers who are looking for a thoroughbred 4×4 offroader in India.
-
Official Launch
Force is expected to launch the 2021 Gurkha by the end of 2021 (or we hope). Given the current pandemic condition, carmakers are hesitant to launch their new car in the Indian market.
-
Expected Pricing
We expect that the 2021 Force Gurkha will be priced aggressively in the range of 10 Lakhs to 15 Lakhs ex-showroom in India.
