2021 Kia Sorento unveiled in International market | Launching soon!?!

Kia Motors were launching their new 2021 Sorento at the biggest automotive show. But due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Geneva Motor show got canceled forcing the company to launch it without that. Now the new generation Kia Sorento launched it looks promising. Does Kia Sorento get what it takes to take the rivals? Will the car launch in India?

Powertrain and Transmission | Kia Sorento

Like Kia’s lineup in India, it gets a wide range of engine options. From diesel to a hybrid powertrain Kia has it all.

• Kia Sorento comes with a 2.2-Litre 4 cylinder Turbo Diesel which churns 198hp and about 440Nm of torque. Kia Carnival in India also shares This potent engine with a different state of tune.
• This engine comes with an exciting 8-speed wet-plate DCT transmission. Unlike the Kia Carnival which gets an 8-speed Torque converter with the same engine.
• The new Kia SUV is also available with a 1.6-Litre Turbo petrol engine in sync with a 59hp electric motor and a 1.5kWh battery. Both combined give a total power output of about 227hp power and 350Nm torque.
• The hybrid powertrain comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
• You can also expect the car to come with a 261hp plug-in hybrid version making the deal even more mouth-watering.

Exterior and Interior | Design

Kia Seltos the first offering from the South Korean manufacturer has lifted out hopes high in terms of the interior. Yes! the car exceeds our expectations.

• The Kia Sorento comes with not just one but 2 touch-screens. A 10.25″ for the infotainment system. Talking about the infotainment, it gets the signature 12-speaker Bose sound system giving the big boy a perfect sound.
• This screen is equipped with all the current bells and wishes like remote start, geofencing, remote climate control, and whatnot.
• The second screen is a 12.3″ screen for the instrument cluster which gets all the latest tech. The large screen also gets blind-spot cameras like the one in Kia’s seltos.
• The list doesn’t end there the huge SUV from Kia also gets a Multi-collision brake system, ambient lighting, Nappa leather, Panoramic sunroof, heated seats and much more.
• On the outside, the car gets the traditional tiger-nose grille giving the car a macho look.
• The bumpers towards the sporty side correspond to the go-anywhere character.
• Being a large SUV it gets 3 rows of seats to take your family along and luggage along. As it gets a decent-sized boot with all the seats up.

Rivals

Kia Sorento is a new entry into the international market and you can expect Kia to launch it sometime in 2021. The car already has its cards unfolded and looks very promising. Sorento will rival Ford’s Endeavor, Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4 and upcoming Tata Gravitas and Kia Gloster.
