English automobile marquee Morris Garages better known as MG Motors in India has recently revealed its latest iteration of the ZS SUV. For those of us who are still confused about the difference between the MG ZS EV and the MG ZS. let’s do a fact check. The MG ZS EV is an electrified version of the MG ZS SUV which still hasn’t made it to the Indian markets. However, recently MG has revealed the 2021 facelifted model of the ZS SUV in the UK.

What’s the Engine Specifications on the ZS Petrol?
Talking about the Mechanical changes the all-new 2021 MG ZS facelift will come powered by the same 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine capable of generating 106bhp of power and 150Nm of peak torque. MG also claimed that the ZS Petrol is also capable of doing 100kmph from a standstill in only 11 seconds before hitting its 175 kmph top speed.
Additionally, MG could introduce the 2021 MG ZS with an all-new 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 103bhp and 160Nm of peak torque. Both the above-mentioned engine units are expected to come paired with a standard 4-speed manual and optional 6-speed automatic transmission.
Features & Specifications
Feature-wise there have been some notable changes including a new chrome coated hexagonal front grille, a revised front and rear bumper with a new set of LED DRLs integrated into the headlights along with MG’s signature tail-lamps setup.
Looking at the side profile it looks quite similar to the previous-gen but we can expect a new set of massive 17-inch alloy wheels.
Coming to the inside, The 2021 MG ZS will receive a newly designed 10.1-inch infotainment system almost 2.0-inches larger than the outgoing model. The infotainment system will be compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MG’s connected tech.
Moreover, it also gets a revised piano-style control button integrated into the centre console for audio and air-conditioning.
The higher-spec variants will also get a fully digital instrument console, 360-degree camera, a built-in navigation system, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control.
Rivals Expected Launch in India?
After the massive success of the MG ZS EV which it was reported that MG could be planning to launch its combustion-based cousin the ZS petrol as well for the Indian market. But till now there has been no confirmation about its launch. If MG plans upon launching the ZS petrol in India it will surely have to go against the best of best like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the undisputed king Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
