2022 Hyundai Venue Facelift | What We Know So Far

Hyundai Venue has been one of the most selling compact SUVs in India. It is a good car with good features and plenty on the Indian roads and its elder sibling Creta. As the compact-SUV segment has been the most trending, Hyundai will have to upgrade its competitor to stay in the market.

The venue made a global debut in 2019, and it is taken as a smaller version of Creta; there are various engine configurations to choose from, along with loaded features. A spy shot was captured when a camouflaged test mule was seen on foreign roads. Let’s see what we know so far:

• Mid-Life Facelift
  

  

  The spy shots reveal a significant change on the rear with sharper taillights inspired by Creta. The tailgate has also been redesigned, along with a refreshed bumper. A twin-tip exhaust has also been observed, which reveals the possibility of an N-Line variant of the Venue.

  It stands on newly designed alloy wheels and has a sharper appeal than before. The front fascia will also be updated with a tweaked bumper and a new grille. The headlights will also be updated and might get sharper cuts along with parametric LED DRLs.

  

• Interior & Features
  

  

  The current Venue offers a variety of features, such as the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with android & apple connectivity. BlueLink connected car technology and automatic climate control with an electric sunroof also come.

  Post facelift, the top variants could get a more extensive infotainment system and other features derived from Creta & Tucson. Hyundai could upgrade the interior with more upmarket materials giving a premium feel.

  Safety-wise, the Venue is equipped with up to six airbags (top variants), ABS, EBD & ESC. An additional vehicle stability management system is also offered to ensure a secure drive.

Engine Options

As of now, Venue is offered with the following powertrain options:

• 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol making 82hp & 113Nm torque mated to a 5-speed manual
• 1.5L CRDi diesel making 100hp & 240Nm torque mated to a 6-speed manual
• 1.0L GDi Turbo petrol making 120hp & 172Nm torque mated to a 6-speed manual with an optional iMT or 7-speed DCT. Hyundai might carry the engine options forward without any changes for the facelifted Venue. It is expected to arrive sometime in 2022.

Overall the significant changes would be cosmetic and minor feature upgrades. Hyundai will rework the looks altogether, but the previous body design will be carried over. The sharper cuts will offer a sleeker appeal with the boxy side profile.
