The 2022 Kia Ray has been teased, and it is surely one cute little car! The Kia Ray has been on sale in foreign markets for a long time now, but it hasn’t been launched in India yet. It also doesn’t seem like Kia is going to launch it in India anytime soon, since the small, affordable car market is already very high on competition. 2022 Kia Ray – Design
If we were to put it in simple words, the Ray is a chic and more funky version of the Maruti WagonR! It follows a very fun design language, it is very boxy but at the same time maintains an urban and cheerful vibe. It is pretty evident from the looks that the Ray is a very small car, and Kia is actually paying on that here! To compensate for the small size, the Ray gets a lot of window area which makes the cabin feel more open and roomy. Small is the key theme here and it is evident in every element of the car.

Features
As for every Kia car, the Ray also gets a healthy list of features. Of course, it doesn’t get some of the premium features like ventilated seats or a sunroof, but the cabin is still pretty loaded. It gets most of the convenience features that you would expect in this segment. It gets an auto-dimming IRVM, a touchscreen infotainment system, leather seats, electrically adjustable mirrors, etc.

The engine on the 2022 Kia Ray
The 2022 Kia Ray gets a 1L petrol engine that makes around 75HP. This motor is mated to a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Yes, the engine and the transmission are focused on small commutes and city driving only. The Ray also gets an EV variant that makes 67HP and has a claimed range of 138KMs.

Should it come to India?
It would be a nice and funky addition to the hatchback segment in India for sure, and it would make a good alternative to the Maruti Ignis. However, practically speaking, the 2022 Kia Ray is not suited for India. The pricing would shoot up to upwards of Rs. 10 Lakhs, which would make it very unreachable for most buyers of that segment. Moreover, the design is not something that would do very well in the Indian market.

It will be very good car for india where the roads are narrow .It should be like old wagon r .A car with out tall middle console which is very uncomfortable for the front passengers A tall middle console makes the seating cramped as well as pain in leg.
