Hyundai Verna is one of the promising sedans in the mid-size sedan segment. Although the segment has been losing market due to the compact & mid-size SUVs, other brands such as Volkswagen, Skoda & Honda are trying to reignite it. Hyundai has launched the Venue facelift into the Indian market and also revealed the 2022 Tucson now the 2023 Verna is in development. Let’s see what we know:
Design
The 2023 Verna is expected to be more extensive dimensionally. It will be the 6th generation and follow Hyundai’s latest ‘Sensual Sportiness’ design pattern. This sedan will be launched in the South Korean market first and will make it to India later. It has already been spied on our roads.

The test mule was camouflaged and stood on criss-cross dual-tone alloy wheels. These are likely to be 16-inch diamond cut alloys, it also gets an all black B pillar along with a rear sloping roof with a shark-fin antenna. It might also get a more extensive front grille similar to the Tucson integrating the headlamps.
Mild Hybrid Tech
There are no confirmed details about the powertrain but mild hybrid tech can be expected. It might be available with the current engine options along with added hybrid technology to the powertrain system.

This would help the 2023 Verna compete better in the market and also enhance fuel efficiency. If it is equipped with mild hybrid tech it will also get regenerative braking and automatic start/stop.
ADAS
The 2023 Verna is expected to be loaded with new features & modern tech. They could be shared from Elantra & Tucson. It might get features like a fresh dashboard along with a new interior & a more extensive infotainment system. The major expected feature pack would be the ADAS.

It is expected to get level 1 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, AEM braking & lane keep assist. It will also get connected car tech with Hyundai’s Bluelink, ventilated seats, ambient lighting & sound, and rain-sensing wipers.
