MG Motors India has decided to present its challenger against Kia Motor’s Carnival luxury MPV. It is the MG G10 MPV! Showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo, the G10 is MG’s iteration of a premium MPV. At the Auto Expo, MG has expressed plans to launch the G10 by the end of the year 2020.
Fun Fact: The MG G10 is sold as Maxus G 10 by Chinese auto giant SAIC which also owns MG.
The MG G 10 is a luxury MPV which will be launched in India in a 7-seater and 9-seater variant. The G10 will most likely be the third offering by the car manufacturer in India after the Hector and the ZS EV.
Engine
The international version of the MG G 10 has two engine variants; A 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.9-litre diesel engine. Both the variants are offered in a 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual. But the India-spec MG G 10 will share the power train with the MG Hector. The 2.0-litre 16 Valve turbocharged engine variant produces 215hp and 330 Nm of peak torque.
The G10 MPV will get a host of premium features such as a 3-piece panoramic sunroof, powered-sliding rear doors, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, middle-row executive seats with fold-out leg rests. It is to be noted that all the features mentioned above are for the Maxus G10 which is already available in China and the specifications might change to better suit the Indian market.
The G10 is longer and taller than its direct rival; the Kia Carnival however, the Carnival is wider than the MG MPV.

Retailing prices for the MG G10 will range between Rs.20 to Rs.25 lakhs (Ex-Showroom). The launch is expected by the end of 2020.
